        Windows Mobile "embedded music smartphone" boasts 3 GB hard drive

        Samsung has announced a tri-band GSM/GPRS Windows Mobile-based "embedded music smartphone" with a built-in 3 GB hard disk drive. The SGH-i300 can store up to 1,000 music files and features "Plug & Play Files-to-go," which allows the phone to function as a removable hard disk drive, according to the company.

        Samsung says the i300 supports 3D-sound through its stereo speakers and enables music downloads from OTA (over-the-air) music services provided by mobile operators as well as from online music services. The device sports a QVGA (320x240 pixel) display, and also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera.

        Samsung lists the following key features and specifications for the SGH-i300:
