Xybernaut announced the Atigo T, a Windows XP Embedded based slate-style tablet computer designed for dual use as a wireless flat panel display (FPD) or a standalone wireless-enabled mobile computer.

Xybernaut's Atigo product family now contains three models -- the Atigo L, Atigo M, and Atigo T. All three are powered by Microsoft's Windows Embedded operating systems: Windows XP Embedded, for the new Atigo T; and Windows CE .NET, for the L and M. The Atigo T is based on a 1GHz Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 processor equipped with 256MB SDRAM, whereas the L is based on a 260MHz Intel StrongArm processor (with 64MB SDRAM) and the M is based on a 400MHz XScale processor (with 128MB SDRAM).

All three Atigo models are configured with built-in 802.11b (Wi-Fi) WLAN wireless networking via standard PC Card and/or CompactFlash slots and incorporate Xybernaut's "all-light readable" display technologies. Internal rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries provide a run-time of approximately 3.0 hours under continuous use and feature optional hot-swappable external batteries. Other features, according to Xybernaut, include: multiple USB ports, an 8.4-inch touch-screen enabled TFT LCD with 800 x 600 SVGA resolution, and a built-in 16-bit sound microphone/speaker and a stereo headphone jack. The devices measure 7.9 x 9.4 inches in size and weigh 1.8 pounds (including battery). Available accessory options include Bluetooth, desktop charging cradle, AC charger, car charger, and wireless keyboard/mouse options.
