SJJ Embedded Micro Solutions has released the Windows XP Embedded Supplemental Toolkit. Described as "more than just a book," the toolkit offers new tools to help developers with creating components, finding dependencies, and documenting configurations, according to the company.

The toolkit was developed by Sean Liming, author of Windows XP Embedded Advanced. SJJ says it contains 50 new "tips n tricks" and 23 hands-on exercises. 340 pages cover a range of topics, such as building a full version of XP pro SP2 image, VB-Scripting, macro components for security and Enhanced Write Filter (EWF), USB flash boot using M-Systems uDiskOnChip, Hibernate Once / Resume Many, and .NET solutions for the XPe power management and EWF APIs. An optional 256 MB uDiskOnChip from M-Systems is available for USB boot.

"Windows XP Embedded has had tremendous growth the past couple of years," says Liming. "Windows XP Embedded Advanced provided developers the basic development process. The new toolkits goal is to build on the first book and provide solutions and much need tools that developers can use in their projects."

The toolkit is priced at $360 for the standard version and $400 with the optional uDiskOnChip.
