The device is powered by a 3 GHz Pentium 4, and is equipped with 512 MB of dual-channel SDRAM. Input/output interfaces include a pair of gigabit Ethernet ports plus five USB 2.0 ports, according to the company.

(Click to enlarge)The system also has three PCI expansion slots, which are key to its video capturing capabilities. Depending on which video capture cards are installed, six different models are available that capture 4, 8, or 16 channels of audio/video using a variety of codecs and frame rates.

The GV-1840 capture card provides 16 input channelsFor example, the Mini DVR System V2, model GV-1480M V2, uses the GV-1840 capture card (shown above) to achieve the full complement of 16 video channels. Breakout cables (shown below) interface the board's D-type connectors to the necessary number of RCA jacks.
