        Wireless Windows CE handheld reads barcodes

        Datalogic is shipping a new compact, lightweight handheld computer running Windows CE 5.0. The Memor features an integrated laser or CCD barcode reader plus wireless communication capabilities and is aimed at entry-level data collection applications in the retail market, according to the company.

        Datalogic notes that the Memor's small and slim form-factor makes it usable with one hand and reduces operator fatigue. Additionally, the keypad uses the familiar "cell phone" layout for intuitive data entry and the display is daylight-readable.

        Key features and specifications of Memor, according to the company, include:

        The Memor is supplied with software for terminal emulation, device management and web-based applications, according to Datalogic.

        The unit appears to be available now, but no pricing information was disclosed.
