        Wireless conference highlights "explosive growth" of wireless

        CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2005 comes to San Francisco Sept. 27th through 29th. Billed as a "comprehensive wireless data event," the conference targets the use of mobile and wireless technologies in the enterprise, in consumer devices, in machine-to-machine applications, and in remote monitoring and control, according to event organizers.




        Among other key themes, the show reflects "explosive growth" in wireless entertainment encompassing everything from mobile content to digital cameras and interactive games, CTIA (the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association) said. On the Enterprise side, the focus is on integrating wireless technologies into the enterprise and vertical business markets, such as healthcare, government, automotive, and retail, according to CTIA.

        Among the special attractions at this year's show are:
        • Mobile Enterprise Keynote, Tuesday -- Focuses on incorporating wireless technologies into the enterprise and vertical business markets. Intel, Microsoft and Nokia present, along with their customers, enterprise solution case studies and discuss strategy, implementation and ROI.

        • Enterprise Mobility Pavilion, show floor -- Features mobile and wireless industry enterprise solutions providers covering all wireless platforms and their related hardware, software, and accessories.

        • M2M Zone, show floor -- Showcases wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) services and products including remote control and monitoring of fixed and mobile devices for enterprise and consumer markets.

        • Mobile Enterprise Education Track, Tuesday and Wednesday -- An in-depth look at real-life deployments of wireless solutions across multiple industry categories including useful updates on device management, emerging disruptive technologies, developer platforms, security, and many other issues.
