        Wyse set-top "video client" runs Windows XP Embedded

        Among its other benefits, the 550 video client uses up to 30 percent less power than a typical multimedia PC, according to Wyse. An optional 80 GB hard drive supports downloading of video files during periods of low network traffic. A DVD drive (for playing DVDs) is also available as an option.

        Wyes lists the following key features and specifications for the model 550 video client:

        Wyse is bundling the 550 video client is with its Rapport Workgroup edition remote management software, which is used for deploying applications and images and managing hardware/software configurations, it says.
