        XP Embedded powers new Boscom thin client terminal

        Boscom Ltd. has released a new thin client terminal based on a 400MHz VIA processor and running a Windows XP Embedded operating system. The Bosanova XTC-400 comes with 256MB memory and 256MB of Flash memory, allowing customers to integrate additional custom or commercially available software into the terminals.




        Boscom's TCP/IP display and printing emulation software comes preinstalled in the the device, as does the company's TCP/IP Management Module that streamlines administrative tasks such as installation, configuration, and upgrade. Other embedded applications include Internet Explorer 6, Microsoft Outlook Express, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Office Viewer.


        Boscom said it plans to begin shipping the XTC-400 in mid-October, at a list price of $695.
