Our 'Question of the Day' offers up the latest in embedded Windows factoids. Today's edition come from an archived MSDN on-line chat about multimedia. The transcribed answer was by Kent Lottis, a development lead for Windows CE audio, directsound, waveform services and audio drivers.Q: I need to develop a CD audio player for an appliance running CE.NET.
The hitch is that we don't have a standard cd/dvd drive, we have a loader so there is no built in DAC that produces analog audio out.
A: Not sure what you mean by a loader, but you should be able to pull audio data off the drive and push it to your audio driver. No shipping components handle this for you, though.
