Datalogic's Windows CE-based "Jet" industrial strength PDAs are aimed at a broad range of supply chain management applications, including planning, production, warehousing, and transportation. The devices offer a wide range of communications and data capture options, and feature a "unique Italian design" in a compact, ergonomic package. Datalogic SilverJET and BlackJET industrial PDAs (Click image to enlarge)The Jet PDAs run Windows CE 4.2 on a 400 MHz XScale processor with 64 MB of RAM and 32 or 64 MB of Flash. Wireless communications options include built-in Bluetooth and 802.11 WiFi, as well as GPRS/GSM cellular through the user-accessible SIM socket. All wireless ports can operate simultaneously, according to the company. Data capture options include a 1D laser scanner, 2D imager, and 13.56 MHz RFID. Other interface ports include USB 1.1, RS232, and IrDA. Aside from color, the SilverJET and the BlackJET differ in how their numeric keypads are utilized. The BlackJET provides a "function-based" keyboard for direct ERP transactions, while the SilverJET utilizes a "web-based" keyboard for HTML applications.
