        Device Profile: Tripod Data Systems Recon, rugged handheld

        Tripod Data Systems has introduced Recon, a 17-ounce, battle-hardened PDA that meets mil specs for water tightness, extreme temperatures, and drop resistance. The Recon lists for $1,500. Tripod is owned by Trimble Navigation Ltd., the well-know maker of global postioning system readers.
