The Evolution1 series is based on the Philips STB810 reference platform, which is built around the Nexperia PNX855x Home Entertainment Engine, a multi-core system-on-chip (SoC) processor that includes a MIPS32 CPU core along with dual TriMedia media processing cores.

Basic hardware specs of the STB810 reference platform -- which are shared by all three Telegent Evolution1 STB platforms -- include:
  • CPU speed -- 250/280/310 MHz
  • Media core CPU -- 240/270/300 MHz
  • DDR RAM -- 32 to 128 MB
  • Flash -- 16 to 64 MB
  • Video out -- PAL or NTSC, S-Video, Composite Video, HDMI, S/PDIF
  • Audio out -- Stereo RCA jacks
  • I/O ports:
    • 10/100 Ethernet, RJ45
    • 4 USB 2.0
    • Asynchronous serial port
  • Expansion -- MiniPCI slot option
The platform supports variable bit rates from 300Kbps to 4Mbps and resolutions up to full D1 at 30fps and 720p. Supported "trick modes" include:
  • Play / Pause / Stop / Step / Goto / Fast Forward / Rewind
  • Change video playback speed
  • Record and timeshift of DVB
Telegent says it has several extensions planned, including:
  • WiFi and Bluetooth wireless using the MiniPCI slot
  • Hard disk up to 250GB via USB
  • DVD Player/Recorder via USB
  • Photo Printer via USB
  • Analog to Digital Converter

Telegent offers the Evolution1 series of STB platforms as ODM (original design manufacturer) products for private labeling by third-party companies.
