        NEC MobilePro 900 "clam-shell" handheld

        NEC has announced a clam-shell style handheld PC which boasts a QWERTY keyboard and an 8.1 inch half-VGA (620 x 240). The MobilePro 900, which is powered by a 400MHz Intel XScale processor equipped with 64MB RAM and 64MB Flash memory, is larger than most PDAs, but smaller than most sub-notebooks.


        The device is slated to become available in the U.S. in May 2003 for $899. Options include a long-life battery for 10-16 hours operation.
