Robotic vacuum cleaner runs Windows CE
In a pre-Mothers Day press release, Microsoft revealed the presence of Windows CE inside two unusual household items. One is the Samsung Navibot, a robotic vacuum cleaner that uses an onboard camera to map rooms, while the other is the Zyken NightCove, a bedside device that uses LEDs and sophisticated programming to enhance going to sleep and awakening."

Asus netbooks use cheaper Atoms, start at $200
Undeterred by slumping netbook sales, Asus announced three such devices -- one of which will be offered with Intel's Linux-based MeeGo operating system for just $200. The EeePC X101 comes with a new 1.33GHz Atom N435 processor, while the EeePC 1025C and 1025CE will include the "Cedar Trail" Atom N2600 and N2800, according to multiple reports."

Windows tablet uses new AMD processor for six-hour battery life
MSI announced a Windows 7 tablet using AMD's new Z-Series processor, the dual-core, 1.0GHz Z-01. The WindPad 110W features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, a 32GB or 64GB SSD (solid state disk), 2GB of RAM, and a mini-HDMI port, according to reports from Computex and retailer listings."

Gateway notebooks use AMD A-Series ('Llano') CPUs
Gateway has quietly unveiled two notebook computers offering AMD's recently unveiled "Llano" processors and Radeon graphics capabilities. The NV55S02u uses the 1.4GHz A6-3400M processor, and the NV55S05u employs the 1.5GHz A8-3500M, while both feature 15.6-inch screens and up to four hours of battery life, according to the company."

Acer announced U.S. availability and pricing for a pastel-colored netbook using a dual-core Atom N70 processor. The "Aspire One Happy 2" comes in four colors, has a textured "water-ripple" cover, includes a 250GB hard disk drive, and starts at $280, the company says."

MSI announced a portable computer that's apparently the first to use AMD's recently announced E-450 processor. The X370 has a 13.4-inch screen, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard disk drive, and up to ten hours' battery life, according to listings by Amazon and Newegg."

HP's revamped mini-notebook gets faster CPUs, soft-touch finish
HP announced revised versions of its dm1z, an 11.6-inch mini-notebook the company first announced earlier this year. The device upgrades to either an Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core processor or a 1.65GHz AMD E-450, now has up to 11.5 hours of battery life, and gains both separate mouse buttons and an available rubberized finish, the company says."
