WINDOWS XP EMBEDDED POWERS CINEMA TICKETING KIOSKS
Cinema operators now have a modern, reliable way to provide convenient,
fast ticketing to patrons before they enter the theater lobby, thanks to
Radiant Systems's Outdoor Ticketing Kiosk. The environmentally hardened,
wireless, self-service kiosk is designed to withstand direct exposure of
the kiosk to sun, rain, and snow and can be used virtually anywhere --
including the gathering area outside a theater's lobby, as well as mall
entrances and sidewalks leading from the parking lot.

MULTIMEDIA "IP ENDPOINT" IS POWERED BY WINDOWS CE .NET
Inter-tel will demonstrate its recently introduced multimedia,
multi-protocol, touchscreen "IP endpoint" at VoiceCon 2004 next week.
The Model 8690 multimedia IP endpoint is built on a Windows CE .NET
embedded software platform, and integrates the company's Unified
Communicator software that allows users to enable routing rules, manage
presence and availability, monitor the status of coworkers, speed-dial
contacts, view call history and messages, and initiate communication
sessions.

WINDOWS CE AND ARM7 POWER RUGGED DATA COLLECTION HANDHELD
Qubos, a specialist in mobile data collection systems located in Dublin
Ireland, has developed a handheld data collection computer powered by
Microsoft's Windows CE software platform.  Qubos says its QuPort
handheld boasts a rugged casing with water resistant seals that makes it
suitable for the damp outdoor winter conditions commonly found in
Ireland and the UK.

TRIMBLE ADDS WINDOWS MOBILE 2003 TO RUGGED GPS HANDHELDS
Trimble will begin shipping its GeoExplorer rugged GPS handheld
receivers with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs
beginning next month, making the GeoExplorer the industry's first
Windows Mobile handheld with fully integrated GPS, according to Trimble.

WINDOWS MEDIA 9 INCORPORATED INTO HD DVD VIDEO SPEC
At its meeting held in Tokyo last month, the DVD Forum Steering
Committee provisionally approved making support for MPEG2, Windows Media
9, and MPEG4 video CODECs mandatory in the High Definition DVD Video
specification for playback devices.

ADVANTECH ROLLS OUT SEVEN NEW PC/104 AND EBX EMBEDDED SBCS
Advantech announced seven new single-board computers for embedded system
and device applications, four in PC/104 and PC/104-Plus format, and
three in EBX format. The SBCs span a wide processor/performance
including 486DX, STPC, Geode, Celeron, Pentium 3, and Pentium 4.
