 Korean company Maxian has introduced a personal media player (PMP) that features Windows CE 5.0 and a 4.3-inch touchscreen display. The E900T also includes a receiver for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) television broadcasts, and optional GPS functionality, according to the company.

The E900T comes with a choice of either 30GB or 60GB hard drives. Its case -- white on the 30GB unit, blue/black on the 60GB device -- incorporates stereo speakers, four function keys and a mini joystick.
An SD card slot is provided for memory expansion, and the E900T also includes USB 2.0 guest and host ports which, as Maxian notes, allow syncing with a desktop computer or attaching an external keyboard and mouse.
Maxian does not reveal how much RAM the E900T includes, but the device -- whose case is emblazoned with a "DaVinci inside" logo -- includes a Texas Instruments TMS320DM6441 system-on-chip (SoC). This incorporates an ARM926EJ-S CPU and an TMS320C64x+ DSP, and is powerful enough to let the device to output 720p high definition video via included connectors, according to the company.
The E900T handles MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-3, DivX, and a wide variety of other audio and video file formats. It can also display song lyrics in real time using the SYLT (synchronized lyrics/text) file format.
Maxian touts the unit's ability to play open-source Matroska audio (MKA) and video (MKV) files. In addition, the device has Dolby Digital and DTS decoders; SPDIF and coaxial connectors allow it to output audio in digital format, the company says.
Finally, GPS capabilities use the SiRF starIII chipset and are added via the optional NK900 cradle, shown surrounding the unit in the picture above. The device also includes an electronic dictionary system with English-to-Korean translation capabilities and Microsoft Office document support, according to Maxian.
Pricing and availability information was not provided, but the E900T appears to be on sale now in Korea.
