Japanese carrier Emobile has announced a Windows Mobile 6 Professional-based phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and tilting display, like that of a small laptop. The Emonster S11HT includes quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE WAN connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, and dual cameras.

Like many other phones, the S11HT has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. In this instance, however, when the keyboard has been deployed, the phone's screen can be angled, making the device resemble a tiny laptop.
The S11HT boasts a 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 processor. The MSM7200 is an ARM11-based SoC (system-on-chip) that runs Windows Mobile and also provides the phone with its GPS capabilities. The phone has 128MB of RAM and 256MB of flash, with storage expandable via a microSD slot.
The new smartphone can download data at up to 3.6 Mbps using HSDPA networks, and 384 Kbps using UMTS networks. Uploads take place at 384kbps with either type of network, Emobile says.
The S11HT includes 802.11b/g wireless capabilities and stereo Bluetooth 2.0. A three megapixel main camera features autofocus, and a secondary VGA-resolution camera caters for videoconferencing.
Like other Windows Mobile 6 devices, the S11HT provides Microsoft's Direct Push technology for email delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks, and contacts. It also includes Outlook Mobile, Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile.
Emobile also touts the phone's "HTC Home" software, which replaces the standard Windows Mobile home screen and is said to provide easy access to emails, text messages, missed calls, calendar appointments, and contacts. Even without that tipoff, Windows Mobile phone aficionados would have already recognized the S11HT as being virtually identical to HTC's TyTn II, which has also been released as the Tilt by AT&T in the U.S.
