Windows Mobile PDA/phone fakes ambient noise

Gigabyte Communications has released a Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone with an interesting proprietary application. The Gsmart i120 with "Wise Talk" lets users create a "virtual background scenario" to simulate the background noise typical of environments such as a concert, a meeting room, or an airport, according to the company.

Although a little smaller and lighter, the i120 has features and specs very similar to the g-Smart, introduced about this time last year. It includes an analog broadcast TV receiver that decodes PAL, NTSC, and SECAM, plus an FM radio receiver. The device can also record received video, according to Gigabyte.

Other features and specs are said to include:

Processor -- PXA272 at 416 MHz
Memory -- 64 MB SDRAM, 256 MB NOR flash
Display -- 2.4-inch TFT LCD with touchscreen, 18-bit color
2.1 Mpixel camera with macro function, digital zoom, video recording capability
Expansion -- mini-SD slot (256 MB mini SD card included)
Wireless:
- GSM 900/1800/1900，GPRS class 10
- 802.11b/g WiFi
- Bluetooth 1.2
- FM radio receiver
- Analog television receiver
Dimensions -- 4.2 x 2.1 x 0.78 inches (106.6 x 53.2 x 19.8 mm)
Weight -- 130g with battery

Gigabyte says the Gsmart i120 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU (adaptation kit update) 3.0. Oddly, Microsoft itself doesn't say much about AKUs so it's not clear if 3.0 is the latest, or what new features it brings.

Price and availability of the i120 were not disclosed.
