| "Qool" Pocket PC phone displays 30 fps video |

Singapore-based Qool Labs, specializing in "digital lifestyle entertainment products", has introduced a "cool" Pocket PC phone with extensive multimedia capabilities. The QDA Oh!, running Windows Mobile 2003 SE, supports 30 frame per second video on its 2.8-inch TFT QVGA display, according to the company.

The QDA Oh! is based on a 266 MHz Freescale iMX21 processor with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of Flash. Qool claims the 266 MHz iMX21 provides more multimedia processing capability than "the normal 500 MHz CPU." Memory expansion is supported with a mini SD slot.

The QDA Oh! includes extensive image manipulation and enhancement capabilties, according to Qool. The camera supports six "scene" modes for special situations: - Standard -- Optimal for most normal situations
- Night-Shot -- For night scenes and other low light situations
- Portrait -- Places the subject in sharp focus and softens the background
- Grayscale -- black and white images
- Sepia -- Brown tint colors for an "old photograph" effect
- Document -- ensures legibility for subject with text
Built-in image editing features allow users to add "expressions" to subjects such as: "smile", "slim", "young", "angry", "sad", "kiss", "sleepy", "fox", "alien", and "monkey". Other image enhancement options include "emboss", "blur", and "mosaic". Written notes and recorded voice tags can also be attached to images.
The QDA Oh! is expected to be available sometime this quarter, according to Qool. Pricing has not yet been determined.
