Concurrent Technologies has upgraded two of its existing SBCs (single board computer) to support the Pentium M 760 processor running at 2 GHz with a 533 MHz front side bus. The VME64 VP 307/01x and the CompactPCI PP 312/01x share similar internal architectures and support Windows XP Embedded and other popular embedded operating systems.

PP 312/01x

The PP 312/01x (pictured above) is a single slot CompactPCI card that provides up to 2 GB of onboard DDR SDRAM and two PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) sites (including front and rear I/O). In addition to the normal CompactPCI backplane, it also supports the PICMG 2.16 Ethernet fabric, PICMG 2.9 Intelligent Power Management Interface, and PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap specs.

The PP 312/01x can operate as a system controller board, a peripheral board or as a satellite board (blade) and has already been used in a wide range of applications within the telecommunications markets, according to Concurrent.

VP 307/01x

The VP 307/01x provides 512 MB of DDR SDRAM soldered on the board. An additional 1 GB is supported via a memory socket. The board provides one onboard PMC site with two additional sites available via an expansion connector to a PMC carrier board.

In addition to the normal VME64 bus, the device supports the VITA 31.1 Gigabit Ethernet on VME64 backplane standard. The front panel supports the PMC, analog graphics, keyboard and mouse interfaces and includes additional front panel interfaces, separate from the rear I/O, for USB, RS232/422/485 and Fast Ethernet.
