| Windows Embedded on tap at ESC next week |

 [Updated Mar. 29] -- Microsoft's Windows Embedded team will be at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) in Santa Clara, Calif. next week, to showcase the latest Windows Embedded products, designs wins, and deployments. Additionally, the company will give away a Windows CE-based digital picture frame daily.
 Microsoft says that visitors to its ESC booth will be able to see demonstrations of: Visitors to Microsoft's tradeshow booth will also have an opportunity to interact with a number of the company's "Windows Embedded partners," including Adeneo, Advantech, Applied Data Systems (ADS), Bsquare, Citrix, Datalight, ICOP Technology, Intrinsyc, Solidcore, TenAsys, Phytec, and many more, to see how these partners are using Windows Embedded and what they have to say about it.
Windows Embedded technical seminars
Microsoft is also inviting all ESC attendees to attend the following series of free technical sessions relating to various Windows Embedded topics:- "Windows XP Embedded FP 2007 Update: EEFs and their advantages in building embedded devices" -- by Scott Figg, Solution Architect of Arrow Electronics -- 10:00-10:45am, 1:00-1:45 pm
- "Application Development for Windows Embedded Devices: Advantages of Visual Studio 2005 and .NET Compact Framework" -- by Gordon Smith, Manager of Software Services at Avnet Computing -- 11:00–11:45 pm, 2:00–2:45 pm
- "Windows Embedded CE 6.0: What’s new with the Operating system and developer tools" -- by Ron Dicklin, Solutions Architect at Bsquare -- 12:00–12:45 pm, 3:00- 3:45 pm
- "The .Net Micro Framework, a closer look at Microsoft's smallest .NET offering" -- by Jim Mateer, Microsoft -- 4:00–5:00pm
Private "expert" consultations
ESC attendees are also being offered free, private, 45-minute "Ask the Expert" consultations, which will be held in small meetings rooms within the Microsoft's trade show booth. Those interested are asked to send an email to Microsoft request an appointment. Include your name, email address, mobile phone number, type of device, selected embedded OS, and a short description of what you'd like to discuss; Microsoft will email back a list of available time slots.
Win an i-mate digital picture frame
As a special promotion, Microsoft says it will be drawing names once a day to give away an i-mate Momento digital picture frame (running Windows CE, of course). Attendees must fill out a survey card to be entered in the drawing, the company notes.
