E-Ten has announced a slim smartphone that includes built-in GPS and runs Windows Mobile 6. The palm-sized, "excellent value" Glofiish X600 also features quad-band GSM/EDGE and GPRS communications technologies, and is E-Ten's smallest and lightest phone, the company says.

E-Ten has recently specialized in phones that feature full VGA (640x480) displays, such as the Glofiish M700, which has a slide-out keyboard, and the Glofiish X500+.

The X600, in contrast, has a comparatively ordinary 2.8-inch QVGA (320x240) display. However, the device does include built-in GPS, based on the SiRF starIII chipset. It also includes both Bluetooth and 802.11b/g WiFi.

The phone's communications capabilities are based on quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/EDGE and include GPRS (general packet radio services) Class B, Multislot Class 10. This provides data transfer of approximately 128 Kb/sec.

The X600, finished in black with red trim, also includes a 2 megapixel camera, along with full audio capabilities.

As a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device, the device includes Direct Push email as well as HTML email capabilities. Other bundled software includes Internet Explorer, Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile, Windows Live, and Windows Media Player 10.

Features and specifications listed by E-Ten for the Glofiish X600 include:

Pricing was not listed by E-Ten, but the Glofiish X600 appears to be available in unlocked form from several U.S. retailers for approximately $630.
