| Windows CE development company forms, launches first product |

Entelechy Consulting and Sintium Ltd. have combined to form a new company, EmbeddedFusion, which intends to supply hardware, software, and training products to companies developing systems and devices based on Microsoft's Windows CE embedded operating system. EmbeddedFusion says its initial products will include development platforms, Windows CE BSPs (board support packages), Windows CE training, and custom design services.
Coincident with its launch, EmbeddedFusion also unveiled its first hardware platform, the FC-MXL processor module and F100 I/O board. The company claims the FC-MXL module is well suited for applications in telematics, remote monitoring, data collection, GPS/mapping, security, access control, and home automation.

The FC-MXL processor module is powered by a 200MHz Motorola DragonBall MC9328MXL ARM9-based processor along with 1MB NOR Flash bootloader, 16-128MB NAND Flash, and 32-64MB SDRAM, and is packaged on an industry standard SODIMM form-factor. The F100 I/O board adds serial ports, Ethernet, storage, and expansion options. The FC-MXL is available as an OEM module, or together with the F100 I/O board as a development kit. The development kit includes Microsoft Windows CE, pre-installed, and is being sold for $299 USD.
Entelechy Consulting, based in Maine, US, brings a long history of Windows CE development though founder Steve Maillet. Maillet is a regular contributor in the Windows CE development community, as a speaker at embedded events (including Microsoft developers conferences and the Embedded Systems Conference), writing technical articles for the Microsoft Developer Network, and answering questions in the Windows CE newsgroups. Entelechy Consulting's customer projects have include bio-technology diagnostics instrumentation, HVAC control systems, test and measurement equipment and rugged handheld devices. Sintium, located in Auckland, New Zealand, has been developing Windows CE solutions since 2000, and has a team of engineers developing both hardware and software solutions.
