Acrosser is shipping a rugged, low power, fanless embedded computer targeted at industrial applications with size, power, and thermal constraints. The AR-ES0631 supports Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded and is intended for retail point-of-sale, environmental monitoring, ticketing, medical, and automotive applications, according to the company.

The AR-ES0631 is based on Acrosser's AR-B1631 EPIC form-factor single-board computer (SBC), which is built around AMD's 500 MHz Geode LX800@0.9W processor and CS5535 southbridge companion chip. The SBC also includes an SO-DIMM slot that accommodates up to 512 MB of SDRAM, along with AGP graphics and TFT touchscreen LCD support.

Acrosser lists the following key features and specifications for the AR-ES0631:

Processor subsystem -- 500 MHz AMD Geode LX800@0.9W with CS5535 southbridge
Memory -- SO-DIMM slot for up to 512 MB 200 MHz SDRAM
Display:
- up to 64 MB shared system memory
- integrated 2D engine
- DB-15 analog VGA output supports up to 1920x1440 resolution with 32-bit color at 85 Hz
- DB-25 LVDS output for 18- and 24-bit TFT LCD up to 1660x1200 resolution
Storage -- CompactFlash or anti-shock drive bay for 2.5-inch HDD
External I/O ports:
- 10/100 Ethernet, RJ45
- 4 USB 1.1
- 4 RS-232C
- PS2 keyboard and mouse
- stereo audio out
Internal I/O ports:
- GPIO -- 4 input, 4 output
- 1 USB 1.1 port shared with external USB
- audio -- mic in, line in
- printer port
Expansion -- PCI-104 slot
Dimensions:
- with mounting bracket -- 10.1 x 4.61 x 2.64 inches (278 x 117.1 x 67 mm)
- without mounting bracket -- 9.84 x 4.61 x 2.32 inches (250 x 117.1 x 59 mm)

The company says it offers various customization services for the AR-ES0631, including labeling and alternative hardware and operating system configurations (including embedded Linux).
